We are crop-agnostic and are focused on managing plant responses, improving crop productivity, and increasing profitability for our clients. We apply scientific principles and the latest research and technology to all of our designs and analyses to create the best controlled environment for growing plants indoors. Energy Modeler/Analyst

As an Energy Modeler/Analyst, you can:
- calculate the cooling, heating, and moisture loads within indoor agricultural facilities using information provided by our clients.
- analyze climate data to model indoor conditions of greenhouses and warehouse facilities.
- develop models to predict energy use and operating costs associated with HVAC equipment.
- assist with evaluating equipment and technology used to manage the plant production environment.
- prepare summary reports for clients.
- support related tasks of engineering consulting business, as needed.
The ideal candidate possesses:
- a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in the field of Mechanical Engineering or Agricultural Engineering.
- practical and theoretical knowledge of thermodynamics, heat transfer, and HVAC.
- experience modeling thermal systems, especially of building HVAC systems.
- programming capabilities with a mathematical programming language, such as Matlab or Julia (any other is OK).
- excellent quantitative skills.
- drafting experience, especially in AutoCAD
- enthusiasm for learning in general, especially with regards to new software, programming languages, and the future of agriculture.
- EIT Certification or ability to take the Fundamentals of Engineering exam within 12 months of employment.
- strong time management skills and ability to multitask.
- an ability to work and thrive in a team environment.
- ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with colleagues and clientele.
- the ability to stay organized and meet project deadlines.
Additional Desired Qualifications:
- An agricultural or controlled environments background.
- A knowledge of financial terms and concepts.
- Professional networking experience.
- Some experience working under the supervision of Project Engineers and Designers within the A&E industry.
